All images in these galleries were voted on by the students in the

Digital Photography class, first semester during the 2008-09 school year.

The first photo assignment required students to apply three basic principles of photography:

  • using the rule of thirds to create an interesting composition
  • filling the frame with the image
  • identifying the focal point of the image

The second photo assignment built on the the basic compositional rules of framing a photography

and added a focus on texture and pattern.

The third photo assigment continued with students working with basic composition.

Line and silhouette as photographic elements were the focus.

choose their best images so far and enhance them in Photoshop.

Students had to:

adjust lighting through:

  • levels
  • brightness and contrast
  • shadows and highlights

adjust color through:

  • removing color cast
  • changing hue and saturation
  • removing color
  • replacing color
  • making color variations
